It's a kind of cheese.

My kid is an honor student at...

In case anyone was uncertain as to the superiority of my children, here is proof that they can indeed walk on water. And, they're even willing to support me so that I can too.

How about that...I managed to post something in January!

What trouble looks like

I don't know what M's problem was today. She led J into all sorts of trouble. Fortunately (for them), there are no permanent marks, holes or other damage to the walls, curtains, or furniture. But the little people parking garage didn't survive. A few books are beyond repair as well. Just before dinner M took a pen to several puzzles, her toy stove, her bedsheets and who knows what else. The toy stove, all the rest of the little people and accessories, the balls, puzzles, a number of stuffed animals and at least two other things I can't remember at the moment have been taken away.

Autumn Leaves

The maple tree in the front yard lost its leaves earlier than most in the neighborhood and we raked up piles a couple of times in late September/early October. The back yard, with 2 maple trees and a few other leaf sources didn't receive any attention until today. This pile is made up of about a quarter of what was on the ground.

If you look carefully at the following picture, you will see that J is missing a shoe. It is still missing.

MOW and J brandishing sticks.

Last week, the kids and I attempted to recreate the cover of the October 2009 Friend magazine.

So you don't forget what we look like:

We've all be doing well, though we have be very busy and have had very little time to do much beyond eat, sleep, work, school. It's fall here - not too cold, a bit rainy, leaves of all colors all over the place. We recently took a trip out to California and had a family picture taken. Enjoy.

All quiet on the midwestern front

Amanda says we need to post something. The kids are taking naps:

Amanda is busy with school work. Hmm, time for nap, StarCraft, or other?

Perhaps I get to be lazy, but the chipmunk making trips back and forth across the front yard is busy enough for both of us. He's transporting birdseed that Amanda spilled outside of the garage to his nest somewhere in the neighbor's yard.

Uncle Beauregard?

I think there are some distinct similarities around the eyes...

Some recent pictures (again)

From a 4th of July Breakfast

From a Pioneer Day Celebration

(when it came time, MOW was afraid to ride in the hand cart so J rode and she and I walked beside it)

We had great weather for kite-flying and everyone got to try.

From the County Fair

I translate the incredulous look as "I heard he's a giant chicken"

J found tractor/truck heaven

I think he was claiming this one
