What M and J Do for Fun

M just said to J: "I'll say no and you say yes." And so the argument begins. Right now both are happy but, if things progress normally, they will both be shouting and in tears within five minutes.

I'm sure I never did anything of the sort when I was a child. Just ask Dani or RJ. They'll tell you.

It sounds like we had fun...

After we dropped Seth off at school this morning, the kids and I went to the park. While I fed BB, M and J were let loose on the tennis courts with a ball. After that we went for a walk through the wooded area of the park. We saw cardinals, bluejays, dogs and dog walkers. M twirled her unbrella around. J collected assorted berries, nuts, pinecones and sticks for the birds. He also collected rocks to feed to the fish. We even found a real mullberry bush! We finished up the morning of fun with a lunch of pancakes with berries and ice cream.

Here is a picture of what fun looks like. It isn't from today. Apparently, it was too hot today for smiles or fun.

Introducing TBD

Amanda started feeling some pain at 2:17 and called me at work. She dropped the kids off with some friends (pulling over to the side of the road for stronger contractions). A coworker gave me a lift to where she was parked and we made our way to the hospital, getting there just before 3. Her water broke on the way up the elevator, a nurse pushed the wheelchair into her delivery room and delivered the baby as Amanda was climbing up into the bed (3:06). Mother and son are doing just fine. 6 lb 3.7 oz. 19.5 in.

Someone Loves Books

Over fifty books, in case you were wondering. I'm sure she looked at every single one of them before going to sleep.

Yellow Nuts

First thing J said to me this morning: "I have a nut in my nose."

"A nut?" I ask.

"Yeah, a yellow nut. I put a yellow nut in my nose at dinner."

We had corn last night. I don't see anything so J gets a trip to the doctor this morning. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Staying busy

In case you've been wondering why we've gotten worse about posting this year, allow me to describe our current schedule:

4 a.m. Seth gets up and starts his work day.

8:30 a.m. Amanda goes to school. Seth and kids play.

12:45 p.m. Amanda returns from school, Seth goes to work. Amanda and kids play.

5 p.m. Seth leaves work.

5-8 p.m. Preparing dinner, eating dinner, getting kids to bed. How that takes 3+ hours every night, I'm not really sure...I think the kids have something to do with it.

8:30 p.m. Seth hopes he's asleep.

10 or 11 p.m. Amanda finishes homework and goes to bed.

It has been hard to find any free time in this schedule for relaxing, let along blogging.
