We're going to have our 2"x8" floor joists reinforced with sister joists. And since we needed to strip down the subfloor for this project anyway, we are getting rid of the carpet in the dining room and the linoleum in the kitchen, to be replaced by laminate flooring. In a week and a half, this should all look much different and we'll be very happy to have a dishwasher again.

A loose cabinet
First and second layers of linoleum and first layer of 1/4" plywood (I removed the second layer of plywood and the third layer of linoleum last night.

Of course we're never in the middle of just one project. Furniture from upstairs joined our food storage in the family room. We moved the food storage out of the laundry room since we've need to replace the ceiling in there, and, while moving the food storage, we noticed that the duct work has a gap from when our new furnace was installed earlier this year, so we're waiting for that to be resolved too before the food moves back in.

The hole in the ceiling in the laundry room
But why have only one hole in the ceiling when you could have two? The master shower has been leaking and I finally got to opening up the ceiling to take a look. The pipe either just needs to be tightened or needs some plumbers putty and tightening. We'll figure that our when the kitchen floor is done. In the meantime, the bucket catches the drips when we find time to shower.
Good news though, over a year since we started the project, the third attempt at tiling the downstairs bathroom is finally nearing completion.
